Architect Giancarlo Zema and EcoFloLife developed WaterNest 100, an ecological floating habitat.

The 1000-square-foot floating pod-shaped home measures 12 meters in diameter and 4 meters tall. Its curved body is constructed from recycled glued laminated timber and a recycled aluminum hull. The rounded wooden roof is topped by a 60-square-meter photovoltaic array capable of generating 4 kWp. Four skylights flank both sides of the photovoltaic array. Large windows and balconies wrap around the unit to allow users to enjoy views of the water.

Hay un nuevo modo de transporte sostenible en la ciudad de Valdivia, Chile. A través de una iniciativa público-privada se está desarrollado un transporte fluvial que muestra una excelente alternativa de movilidad sustentable y contribuye a la recuperación de los principales patrimonios naturales, los Ríos Calle-Calle y Valdivia, como ejes integradores de la ciudad. Los ríos, que en los orígenes de las ciudades se constituyeron en los motores dinamizadores de su desarrollo (fuentes de agua y alimento, vías de comunicación), posteriormente se convirtieron en su patio de atrás (depósitos de basura y efluentes, fuentes de enfermedades, mal olor, etc.), o en el mejor de los casos, en simples espectadores de la vida urbana.
