Australian researchers claim to have passed a significant milestone toward quantum computers as they said they were able to create the first qubit based on a single atom in silicon.

Nowadays everyone needs to have the fastest piece of technology that money can buy.  While quantum computers are still a way off yet, once the technolgy has been perfected they will have un-paralleled speed which no conventional computer will be able to match.
