Whether it is to solve a problem, plan a project, or develop new story ideas there are plenty of occasions in the course of a school year for students to brainstorm together. I still believe that nothing beats getting together in a room to swap ideas in person, but that's not always practical or possible. For those times when in-person brainstorming sessions are not possible, the following five tools offer a good way to host brainstorming sessions online.

Outils très interessants pour brainstorming à distance même si rien ne vaut le présentiel à mon sens.

Basic Brain Essentail Learning Steps...I would lead with the B.E.L.S. but would integrate to develop deeper metacognitive learning strategies, that would in turn, lead to inquiry / problem based learning (taking action part)...

Rob Hatfield, M.Ed.'s comment, September 30, 2013 3:44 AM
Cynthia - Your answer would depend on the culture of that language learning community. I would recommend to "bring it home" or apply / adapt according to the multicultural / multilevel class. The common thread / stream could be applied across the curriculum at school. For example, if the students have a science project due before midterms. Have the students break down each step using inquiry-based learning and English as the target language. Build the vocabulary, interact with the science reading assignments or even break those lessons down in usable learning chunks. Then approach the speaking and listening to the presentation of the project. Science and English class would achieve a win-win situation.

The one that caught my attention was the one about making a great teacher. This is such a modernistic way of expressing it. Teachers form. They are guided, self-reflect, and converse. Or, they should. Maybe the difficulty is we still think we make teachers and they are a product. That is so Platonic.

7 Seriously Hardcore Project Management Apps

7 Seriously Hardcore Project Management Apps | Technology in Schools | Scoop.it

Running your own business can be hard — there’s time-tracking, invoicing, and contacts to keep track of, plus knowing what your entire team is doing (especially important if you manage a team remotely). If you’re trying to use a different solution for each one of these problems, things can easily get overwhelming (and the bill can get high!). These apps can help you stay on top of it all at once, in one spot.

Digital leadership for administrators | SmartBlogs.com

Digital leadership for administrators | SmartBlogs.com | Technology in Schools | Scoop.it

Year after year, hundreds of millions of dollars are funneled into technology initiatives and resources in school districts throughout the country. From hardware and software, to infrastructure and one-to-one devices, money is flowing into programs and tools for schools like never before, but are these technology devices and tools making a worthwhile impact considering the cost? Who’s leading such implementation and reform?

As these tools become more prevalent in schools, it’s school leaders that will make or break the success of such innovative programs and ultimately help determine if the monetary investments were worthwhile. Administrators that exhibit digital leadership will undoubtedly have a higher return on such investments in technology. Schools without such leaders face an uphill battle.

How can administrators exhibit such digital leadership?
