Okay, so maybe the fact that this was based off American studies and that it is aimed at the high school Maths classroom seems to make this article irrelevant, in my opinion I think a lot of what this article has to say rings true here in the Australian primary classrooms. Maths has been, and always will be a struggle for many many of our students. There are a bucketload of reasons why but sometimes students just don't get it. This article is arguing for the increase of use of technology in the classroom.

While people are worried that students will begin to use technology as a "crutch" and not think for themselves it argues that technology can be used as an aid, especially when trying to make abstract Maths ideas more accessible.

A great resource to share with faculty and families to help build support for the adoption of BYOD. I particularly like the pros and cons image at the bottom which illustrates some of the important issues related to BYOD in schools.
