Interesting viewpoint from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Impressed as I am with his positive attitude, I believe the firmly grounded and more realistic Elon Musk's assessment of AI is more accurate and more likely to happen than Zuckerberg's overly idealistic projections.  Musk has a tendency to be right most of the time.  Zuckerberg is an inspired dreamer--Musk is a realist who understands human nature and its foibles, and plans accordingly.

prgnewshawaii's curator insight, July 24, 4:51 PM

The singularity is almost here.  This time, Australia will be using computers to make key government decisions.  Up to 11 federal departments could lose employees.  Besides the job loss, there is the possibility that the entire machine intelligence edifice could come crashing down once hackers work their way inside the new system.  This could be an accident waiting to happen. Be careful what you wish for.

Elon Mush makes an excellent point which may be ignored by those enraptured with AI and machine learning. What happens when these technologies run rampant without standards, regulations, and subscriber safety in mind? Be careful what you wish for. A warning that should be heeded.
