A New Fantastic Bloom's Taxonomy Wheel for iPad Apps ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

A New Fantastic Bloom's Taxonomy Wheel for iPad Apps ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Technology for Business English Teaching | Scoop.it

"Today while I was browsing through my Twitter feeds I came across this fabulous Bloom's Taxonomy wheel of apps shared by Anthony. If you still recall, some previous versions of this wheel have already been featured here in Bloom's Taxonomy for Teachers section .

As you can see, the wheel outlines a wide variety of verbs and activities related to each thinking level of Blooms taxonomy coupled with iPad apps that go with it. These apps are supposed to help teachers and students better cultivate these different thinking levels in their use of iPad apps. And because the the visual is not hyperlinked, I went ahead and provided the links for each of these apps in the lists below. Enjoy"

Mobile learning (also referred to as “mlearning”) is becoming a common occurrence in both educational and corporate sectors. With such a large portion of the population using smartphones and similar technology, creating mobile learning programs only makes sense.

However, it only makes sense if you can do it right!

While mobile learning program design is in many ways similar to traditional elearning implementations, there are certain factors that you will need to consider.

If you are new to the world of mlearning and what you will need to consider in a mlearning program, then you are in luck. The folks at Kineo have created a free PDF tutorial designed to help you create winning mobile learning for your organization.

What’s in it?

Using Brain Research to Design Better eLearning Courses: 7 Tips for Success

Using Brain Research to Design Better eLearning Courses: 7 Tips for Success | Technology for Business English Teaching | Scoop.it

Beth Dichter's curator insight, May 1, 4:25 AM

As teachers we are course designers. We design a lesson and if we teach face2face we see immediate feedback while teaching. The same feedback is not as apparent online. One question that is being researched looks at what brain research tells us about designing better lessons, and what applies to eLearning typically applies to what happens in our classroom. This post provides seven tips, with an infographic that show each. Click through to the post to see more detailed information for each tip and to find additional resources.

Below are three of the tips:

* Favor recognition over recall

* Help learners avoid stress and fear

* Keep the working memory in mind

Five resources are shared in this post, with explanations about how to use them in your classroom. All have free versions available.

* LessonPaths (http://www.lessonpaths.com/) allows you to put together groups of web resources and other digital resources in one location. (This was called MentorMob.)

* Blendspace (https://www.blendspace.com/schools) is similar to LessonPaths but with a different look to it. Check them both out to see which fits your needs.

* Geddit (http://letsgeddit.com/) provides a space where you can ask questions and students can respond using most any digital device that can access the Internet.

* TED-Ed (http://letsgeddit.com/) is a resource that provides lessons that include a video, questions, resources and a discussion forum and allow you to flip any lesson you find. Additional videos are added frequently.

* Powtoon (http://www.powtoon.com) allows you to create videos using templates. It is a little more complex to learn and you will be limited to five minute videos unless you subscribe. There is an educational version available.

Have fun exploring these tools and creating content to engage your students!
