I will definitely have some feedback after reviewing these tools to create online assessments. Creating assessments is an important first step because you don't give the prescription on how to fix a business before you've figured out what the problem are-that's why you begin with the assessments- they become your base starting point of reference. This article has tools to help you create those online assessments.Let me know which are your favorite tools.

Get recognition for learning that happens anywhere. Then share it in the places that matter.

Paula Iaeger PhD's comment, June 18, 2013 9:43 AM
This is one application of badges that cross generations and circumstances. When workers are offered recognition for the training they receive, there is a desire to know more. A simple certificate might help but a digital badge for its transportability is much better. In a classroom grades of course have their place but what I like is that the natural curiosity is rewarded when a badge is voluntarily pursued. Badges celebrate extra effort, not mediocrity and a just-get-by mentality.

Pinterest has taken off in the past few months. According to a Shareholic study, it exceeds reddit, Google+, Linkedin, and YouTube as a referral source. It may seem as though everyone you know is Pinning something to the online bulletin boards to share their favorite articles, collections, and items available online.

This is a great social networking tool that you can use for educational purposes, whether you are a teacher or a student.

This tool can make it possible to create boards for specific projects and to collect and share lesson resources.

AAEEBL - Home for the World ePortfolio Community | Technology Enhanced Learning & ePortfolio | Scoop.it

Mission
The Association for Authentic, Experiential and Evidence-Based Learning (AAEEBL, pronounced "able") is a non-profit, professional organization for the world eportfolio community.  AAEEBL's mission is to deepen learning and to transform institutions with electronic portfolios.

Background
ePortfolio community leaders recognized in 2008 that eportfolio, as a technology, and as a body of theory and practice, had emerged as a promising influence and direction for education. They believed in the value of eportfolio for learning, assessment and life-long career success.  These leaders envisioned a professional association to serve the emerging field and to underscore the scholarship and implementation of eportfolios for learning. AAEEBL was formed in 2009, anchored in the foundational roots of the eportfolio community. Since its founding, AAEEBL affiliations and collaborations have reached a wide array of initiatives, projects and organizations.

Commitment
As the only full-time, year-round professional eportfolio association AAEEBL is committed to serving both educators and the eportfolio industry. AAEEBL services -- conferences, resources, community connections, webinars and a bi-monthly newsletter, to name a few --  are available to the global eportfolio community.

Certainty Based Marking in Moodle

Clear explanation of Certainty Based Marking (sort of advanced negative marking). This option is now available in Moodle but the add-ons designed by Tony Gardner-Medwin at UCL look to be far more accurate and effective.

Perhaps some of the language is a little tricky for my students but I do like the idea that it makes multiple choice questions more effective and therefore more justifiable for their use in other subjects.

To download the add-ons and try out the CBM package for all Moodle types click on the link: http://www.tmedwin.net/cbm/moodle/

Now to get it added to our platform and test it out....
