Five free tools to aid in graphic design

Five free tools to aid in graphic design | Technology | Scoop.it
When you think of graphic design, you generally think of Photoshop, Gimp, Inkscape, and other bitmap and vector image editing software. But most designers have more than just the standard tools in their arsenal. Whether it's a tool to aid in the selection of a color scheme, batch processing tools, or font tools etc. - there's always yet another tool to aid in your quest to create the perfect design. And these tools aren't just for the hard-core designers. Anyone can add secondary tools to their ever-growing graphics toolkit - but which tool is best suited for you?

Indeed, the iPad is a tool for creativity. Students can build digital projects, by using images, podcasts, videos and music to increase the appeal of their work.

I have also found that the iPad is fantastic when used as a rotational activity for practising skills during literacy and maths lessons; especially for kids who are struggling. Thus its a great tool to use when differentiation of curriculum is important.

Worth a read, some great points made here... iPads are amazing tools if used to their potential.

TouchCast - Creating interactive video on the iPad | Technology | Scoop.it

TouchCast is an iPad app that I downloaded recently and have been exploring a bit over the last couple of weeks. It's not often an app come along which really shakes up and existing genre like video, but I think TouchCast does and in a way that can be very beneficial for learners.

Margie Madsen Tyner's insight:

Albert Einstein said, "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.  It is the source of all true art and science".

This reminds me of Matthew Henry's commentary that says we are not our own and the earth and all that is in it belongs to God.

God is in control. We can engineer and build; however, one storm can wash it all away.
