Tales from a Loud Librarian: Creating Audio Book Reviews with Chirbit

Tales from a Loud Librarian: Creating Audio Book Reviews with Chirbit | Technology and the CCSS | Scoop.it

"Each student in the class was asked to read a book that they liked and create a book talk that describes the plot and recommends the story to other readers. When read aloud, each book talk was to be 90 seconds or less. The students used the tech tool Chirbit to record their talks. I chose Chirbit because the interface is easy to use, and once recorded, a QR code and URL is generated for each Chirbit that a student creates." by Elizabeth Kahn @Elizabeth Kahn

Linda Dougherty's curator insight, November 19, 2013 1:30 PM

Just showed high school teens how to use this to make a mobile app for their study group.  They made a QRCode poster to share with their classmates.  Very cool way to introduce school groups to ORCodes and smartphone apps all bundled into one neat package!  Also, can see teachers and librarians using this as an alternate to a webpage or wiki.

Teaching Kids to Code Through Battling Robots in ‘Hakitzu Elite’ App | Technology and the CCSS | Scoop.it

Conceived by the London based Kuato Studios, Hakitzu Elite is the first of many planned titles from the studio that focuses on teaching kids STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills through gameplay. The learning-while-playing concept is fundamental to Kuato Studios’ philosophy to help kids (and interested adults) develop these important life skills.
