Interesting idea, but it really doesn't seem to address the problem of just copying the particles.  If they are "easily manufactured" as the article states, how does that stop those with the will and the resources to simply duplicate the code?

One of the episodes of COSMOS covers the work from Fraunhofer  and his work in the 1800's in optics ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_von_Fraunhofer ;) ... this is the latests extension of the initial work done in spectroscopy ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_spectroscopy ;) by other scientists as well, including Newton.
