"Scavenger hunts are a brilliant way to pursue a particular topic or educational course with your class in a fun and innovative way. As well as the excitement of pursuing clues and deciphering the message to work out where to hunt next, educators can use scavenger hunts as a way to drip-feed small, digestible chunks of information to students in a clear, memorable way."

How technology creates facilitative disruption in the classroom

How technology creates facilitative disruption in the classroom | Technology and language learning | Scoop.it
There is no doubt that technology has the potential to be a major disruptor in the classroom. There are two kinds of disruption: facilitative, or “good”, disruption; and debilitating, or “bad”, disruption. So what matters most is the type of disruption being caused not so much the disruption itself.

Interesting short article from David Nunan.

Antonio Bautista's curator insight, November 16, 2:01 AM
Plantea dos situaciones reales: el ordenador no va porque la aplicación no funciona, o el alumno multitasking que está haciendo varias cosas a la vez, entre ellas modificar una foto del profe.
Sebastián Vásquez's curator insight, Today, 2:39 PM
In agreement with the article, we should encourage our students to think in an innovative way in order to foster their agency for learning and in that way create opportunities for facilitative disruption to take place. Moreover, in order to avoid debilitating disruption is important to always keep in mind that technology should be used as a means, that is as a support or complement and not as a suplement of materials of class. In that way, we would be avoiding to screw everything up when technology fails by having a plan B.
