Pro-family activist: 'Everybody does it' is Verizon's excuse for porn videos | Technology and Internet | Scoop.it
A major corporation is being taken to task by the public for offering filth to consumers – then making excuses for it.
Dave Cottrell's insight:

Verizon's letter does nothing to really justify what they are doing.  They simply tout all their safety measures.  That's kind of like leaving a loaded .45 fully cocked with the safety on lying on the coffee table for your kids to play with... one of them is going to (accidently, even) figure out how to turn the safety off...

NetAppVoice: Google Glass Gets Even Creepier? Bad News Or Good? | Technology and Internet | Scoop.it
Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is coming under fire (again) for the privacy implications of Google Glass. Being able to capture a photo with nothing but a wink is worryingly creepy. As is real-time facial recognition. On The Other Hand, technology companies from LG to Microsoft to Apple are also raising privacy eyebrows. How can you prevent it happening to your business?
Dave Cottrell's insight:

Creepyyyyy!  Google Glass introducing the wink  for photo capturing.  Simply wink with  the right eye, and it takes the shot.  Does this add a whole new level to flirting?

But in 2012, according to analysts at Rhodium Group, California's carbon emissions actually increased more than 10 percent, bucking the national trend of decreases. That's in large part because California shut down one of its few remaining nuclear power plants."
