9 Creative Storytelling Tools That Will Make You Wish You Were A Student Again | Technology and Education Resources | Scoop.it

T.H.E. Journal asked educators for the most creative storytelling apps available, and we did a little digging on our own, too. The tools and apps we found turn students into novelists, artists, and moviemakers with each tool bringing its own powerful mechanism for transforming the traditional narrative--both inside and outside the classroom...

Augmented reality–a technology that uses a trigger image to superimpose digital content over a user’s view of the real world–is growing in popularity and accessibility, and it holds a wealth of potential for education. Often described as “QR codes on steroids,” the technology offers new and exciting ways for students to interact with lessons, said Jeff Peterson, an instructional technologist in the Lamar Consolidated ISD in Texas. Peterson presented a TCEA 2017 session on augmented reality’s application in classrooms.

10 Reasons Why Stories And Online Learning Make An Awesome Pair - eLearning Industry  | Technology and Education Resources | Scoop.it
Storytelling is more of a strategy, than a methodology. As a strategy, it has to be worked out, keeping the learner and the course objective in mind. It is a strong tool in the hands of a smart designer! Learning and Development managers can achieve learning objectives by encouraging the learners to discover learning through stories.

From curator~ " Elliott explains the process of how to edit your articles and improve your writing at the same time. Here's what caught my attention: It's important to first do planning and research before the writing begins. Use an outline of the structure with a beginning, middle, and end. After writing a post give yourself some time to process it. Save the editing process after you have completed your article. Read your completed work out loud to yourself. Notice the flow of the piece, and whether there were any mistakes you may have missed.

How Students Can Use Timeline Infographics in the Classroom

How Students Can Use Timeline Infographics in the Classroom | Technology and Education Resources | Scoop.it

As a foreign language teacher, I am always looking for innovative ways to allow my students to demonstrate what they have learned.

I want students to be able to choose a tool that brings out their creative side and, as a result, leads to a more authentic and meaningful learning experience.

Because learning a language can be difficult, I try to design a variety of activities and projects that will provide students with practice and unique opportunities to develop their language skills through the creation of their projects.

The Role of Metacognition in Learning and Achievement

The Role of Metacognition in Learning and Achievement | Technology and Education Resources | Scoop.it
Metacognition, simply put, is the process of thinking about thinking. It is important in every aspect of school and life, since it involves self-reflection on one’s current position, future goals, potential actions and strategies, and results. At its core, it is a basic survival strategy, and has been shown to be present even in rats.

Perhaps the most important reason for developing metacognition is that it can improve the application of knowledge, skills, and character qualities in realms beyond the immediate context in which they were learned. This can result in the transfer of competencies across disciplines—important for students preparing for real-life situations where clear-cut divisions of disciplines fall away and one must select competencies from the entire gamut of their experience to effectively apply them to the challenges at hand. Even within academic settings, it is valuable—and often necessary—to apply principles and methods across disciplinary lines.

Fantastic points on what characteristics make a good leader. I would also add transparency, I have found that employees thrive when having a very clear picture of what earns an A and conversely what  merits an F. It is very disconcerting for employees when working for someone when they are never quite sure where they stand,

i'm sure that most of nowaday's teachers have used ICT's in classroom and actually enjoy doing it. It has became a really necessary tool the use of virtual aids into the classroom.
Here there are 7 proposals of "modern tools" to use into the classroom that are specially usefull for gropus tasks.

In my personal opinion I really liked numer 1 which is a board tool that lets users organize thoughts and ideas spatially and plus, it could be connected to youtube and google drive (two digital toolsvery used by students) and i liked numer4 aswell because it is specially designed for children and teenagers.

Enjoy the reading and i hope my colleagues use some of these digital tools in their classes.
