Today, in addition to introducing children to books and curating collections in school libraries, teacher-librarians are doing the same with websites and online information. They often research and vet appropriate websites ahead of time to provide to teachers when they're covering a particular subject, just as they do with books. But they also teach students to do better Internet searches, refine their search terms, and become more independent. Part of the challenge is a trend teachers and librarians call "satisficing," a combination of satisfying and sufficient or suffice, said Finlay. I like this poster. Learning psychology is about explaining or outlining a theory, followed by evidence in the form of research, ending with critical evaluative commentary. This will be helpful for students.

Back in 2007, two high school science teachers in Woodland Park, CO, decided to try a “crazy idea.” “We said, ‘What if we stopped lecturing and committed all our lectures to videos?’” says Jon Bergmann, now the lead technology facilitator at the Joseph Sears School in Kenilworth, IL. He and fellow educator Aaron Sams posted their short films—15 to 20 minutes long—for students to watch at home. There's a debate across the country over how well universities are preparing graduates for the real world, and whether colleges should operate more like businesses. That debate is particularly heated in Texas, where Gov.
R.Conrath, Ed.D.'s insight:
I heard this article by NPR, and I think Governor Perry's perspective is disturbing and lacking in an understanding of how a university works. While there are aspects of business that are involved in higher education, many areas are not recordable on an accountant's ledger. The term Perry can't understand, nor S.C.'s former Governor Sanford, is synergy. Higher learning educates people; it doesn't make junk bonds or cheaply made car parts. (I mention former Governor Sanford because while he was in office he tried similar tactics that involved closing smaller state supported colleges. What he didn’t know or comprehend was that the smaller colleges are what kept USC running in the black, not the other way around. ) Delete the scoop?
