John Dalziel's insight:

PhET is a platform that offers free interactive simulations designed to assist learners in developing an informed understanding of a variety of phenomena covering...
   - science,
   - physics and
   - maths.
These simulations come to life via the use of...
   - graphics,
   - interactive controls,
   - sliders and
   - radio buttons.
Learners can easily manipulate the intuitive interface and even get animated feedback and responses as they navigate their way through the various simulations.
All of the simulations provided by PhET are...

CK-12 Simulations

CK-12 Simulations | technologies | Scoop.it
John Dalziel's insight:

On the CK-12 Simulations website, learners can chose from a LONG list of simulations that cover everything from the physics of sound to gravity's forces on water from a fountain...
How does it work?
   - The first step, once they've selected a simulation, is to learn about the physics behind the simulation.
   - Then they are taken into the simulation to put it to the test.
CK-12 Simulations website has prompts under the challenge button to see if the learner really knows their stuff.
I highly recommend that STEM practitioners check K-12 Simulations out

Colorblind Web Page Filter

Here is one for "Web presence designers" - Designing for the colourblind can be troublesome for designers who aren’t actually colourblind. How do we take into account accessibility when we do not suffer from the condition in hand?

Luckily, there’s a handful of accessibility “simulators” available on the web where a web page is rendered in a certain way. The Colorblind Web Page Filter takes your website and filters it as if you were colour blind.

The tool is still in development and can take some time for a render to become available for viewing. However, the range of colour filters available is fairly extensive, covering all major types of colorblindness.
