Adobe Scan app, scan documents to pdf | Adobe Acrobat DC | technologies | Scoop.it
Scan anything into a PDF using your mobile device. Scan documents, whiteboards, forms, receipts and more with the new Adobe Scan app. Download today!
John Dalziel's insight:
At the end of May 2017 Adobe launched Adobe Scan a scanning app with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) functionality that allows users to scan anything they want to PDF.
OCR in Adobe Scan is completely free, converting printed text to digital text in seconds.
It’s fast and easy to capture multi-page documents too.
Users can turn any type of document into an editable PDF which they can edit and re-use the way they want.
Adobe Scan is also a powerful converter that lets users convert different file types to PDFs.
The app integrates seamlessly with other services included within an Adobe subscription allowing users to do more with their PDFs (e.g. edit, convert to Microsoft Office, fill and sign, and send for tracked signatures).
Note: To properly use the app you need to be registered with Adobe cloud.
The three main features provided by Adobe Scan are:
  - Scanning (‘Capture forms, receipts, notes and business cards. You can even scan multi-page documents with a single tap.’),
  - recycling content (‘Free, built-in optical character recognition (OCR) lets you reuse scanned content by creating a high-quality PDF you can work with in Adobe Acrobat Reader.’), and
  - storage (‘Save your scans to Adobe Document Cloud for instant access and sharing)

PhotoScan helps users “scan” photographs using their phone’s camera, they just need to...

► The app automatically enhances and rotates the image and—best of all—removes any glare
...creating a digital replica in seconds.
As well as the users loose photographs, the app also works with framed images and those already secured into their album(s).

Scan Documents On Your Phone With CamScanner [Android & iPhone] | technologies | Scoop.it
When it comes to smartphones, many of us want to be able to use them to do all manner of useful home office tasks just to make our lives easier. So it's a phone, a camera, a handy email client, social networking centre and all the rest.

CamScanner is an application, available on Android, iPhone, Windows Mobile and Blackberry, designed to make high quality document scanning easy for users using their smartphone.

CamScanner is quite sophisticated, it is easy to scan multiple pages into one document and/or to auto-crop an image to exactly what a user wants to keep/share/save.

I've added the free version to my work iPhone to test the ad-supported, limited version; give it a go and see what you think!

I would think it is an ideal application for WBL Assessors.

Thanks for the feedback Coling; Like many tools it isn't the tool, it's the way it is used.
