Wunderlist | To-do list, Reminders, collaboration and more!

Wunderlist | To-do list, Reminders, collaboration and more! | technologies |
John Dalziel's insight:

There are many tools for making check lists. Practitioners, and/or learners, could...
   ● go old-school and keep check lists in a paper notebook, or
   ● put them on Post-It notes on their desk, or
   ● use a plain text file to keep track of their check lists, if they’re a fan of the minimalist look on their computer.
There are also a lot of other great tools that can be used to manage checklists, each of which can be very valuable if they decide to make a lot of different lists.
Wunderlist is one such tool that allows users to...
   ● make different to-do lists.
   ● organize and share their to-do/work etc., lists.
   ● set Due Dates and Reminders and Assign to-dos. No matter whether their lists are course/work related or just for fun.
   ● share their lists and work collaboratively on projects with others.
Wunderlist works seamlessly across all major devices, available for free on...
   ● iPhone,
   ● iPad,
   ● Mac,
   ● Android,
   ● Windows,
   ● Kindle Fire and
   ● the Web
No matter what they’re planning, how big or small the task may be, Wunderlist makes it easier to get stuff done.

7 Sticky Notes - Fun, interactive, powerful and cool Sticky Notes for your Desktop!

7 Sticky Notes - Fun, interactive, powerful and cool Sticky Notes for your Desktop! | technologies |
7 Sticky Notes is a 100% free desktop notes software that creates Sticky Notes directly on your Desktop! It has a great good-looking realistic sticky note appearance with great features, and it is at the same time simple to use, reliable, and light!
John Dalziel's insight:

Post-its on the desktop or Start Screen can be extremely helpful for remembering small but important amounts of information.
Many practitioners and/or learners will prefer to stop cluttering up their desk and go digital.
7 Sticky Notes is an ideal option, for those either running Windows 7 still, or if they’re on Windows 8 but prefer the desktop over the Start Screen.
7 Sticky Notes offers plenty of options for formatting notes and the text within them.
After the installation...
   -  an icon appears in the notification tray (the area in the bottom right corner of your desktop).
   -  Right-clicking the icon provides the option to open a new note.
When a new note is opened, the Note Configuration Window will appear beside it allowing users to change...
   -  the colour of the note,
   -  the font,
   -  font size,
   -  font colour
...and more.
There’s also an option to set alarms.

My Study Life

My Study Life | technologies |
A free cross platform planner app for students, teachers and lecturers designed to make your study life easier to manage.
John Dalziel's insight:

MyStudyLife is a Learner Planner for All Platforms, which could provide an excellent service for learners if they get into the habit of using it to keep track of their assignments.
My Study Life allows learners to organise...
   - their classes,
   - tasks and exams
...and never forget a lecture or assignment again
When learners start using the app they...
   - have to enter their courses, then
   - start to enter tasks into each course.
Each task is assigned a due date.
The My Study Life homepage shows them the tasks that have due dates approaching.
Whether or not MyStudyLife will help learners will be determined by whether or not they get into the habit of using it.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention it's free.

Evernotify | technologies |

Evernote is used by many practitioners and stakeholders, to keep track of their thoughts, things they find on the web, and ideas as they come to them.

It can also make a great place to keep track of the tasks they need to accomplish.

Evernote is however lacking any sort of notification feature to actually remind users to do the task.

This can be addressed by using sends email notifications for tasks within Evernote.

Now Evernote users can have their ideas and their to-do list in one place.

- sign up and
- link it with your Evernote account.
- everything is broken down in two categories; to-dos and IOUs.

NOTE: When users add a new task through Evernote they must make sure they tag the note with “evernotify” or it will not notify them.

Once lists are set up, users can use the Evernotify web app to tweak how often and when they receive email notifications.

When users receive an email, it will tell them how many to-dos and how many IOUs they have left on their list.

For avid Evernote users, this a must-have app that will take it to another level.
