Selborne: website for environmental annotation | technologies | Scoop.it
John Dalziel's insight:

The first step to get your head around this website is to zoom out, using your mouse scroll wheel or the zoom button (top left)
- Hover over the map button (with the layer-icon) and select the type of map that is right for you.
There is a small but impressive selection and they all have their uses.
- Hover over the logo to find:

   - the Text field to log-in (An account can be requested via email)

   - Annotations (all the annotations added so far, are direct links),

   - Datasets (Terrestial ecoregions, plant biodiversity.)

In the Bottom-Right: - Search - Coordinates
- Hover over the Search button and enter the town, street, etc you want to direct the map towards.
For me the impressive layers that can be added to the maps are the Meteorology layers...
   - Precipitation
   - Pressure Contour
   - Wind and
   - Temperature
