Shoo Rayner - learn to draw better - YouTube

Shoo Rayner - learn to draw better - YouTube | technologies | Scoop.it
Everyone can draw. Anyone can learn to draw better. Forget about art. Drawing is a language that helps you communicate with others. Get some paper, make some...
John Dalziel's insight:

ShooRayner Drawing is YouTube channel that provides a variety of instructional videos to help learners and children (and anyone else interested in drawing) learn to draw better.
The videos are created by artist and children’s book author and illustrator Shoo Rayner.
Practitioners could probably use these videos with your own learners, especially with a flipped learning model, to teach them how to draw different things.
Most importantly, the videos provide younger learners a very solid starting basis into the concept of drawing which will, once mastered, enable them to create gorgeous drawings of anything they want.
There is also a section for artists and advanced creators where Rayner shares interesting pieces of advice about drawing and being a creative person.

The Bezier Game – can be a difficult but yet strangely addictive game, designed to help users learn how to use the Pen tool in Photoshop.
It provides learners with a variety of shapes and then shows them which way you need to move the Pen to succeed.
Learners then have to move the Pen with their mouse in the same way as they were shown. Easy? You’d be surprised.

Harmony

An application that allows users to sketch and create art work in their web browser.

This is done either by going to a website, or by installing an app in Google Chrome. (Important Note: Harmony does not seem to work in Internet Explorer, but it does run in Chrome, Firefox and Safari.)

Harmony isn't fancy, and lacks documentation or tutorial support.

However, it is an extremely versatile tool for creating art work with a mouse on a computer screen. I spent far too long using it and experimenting with allthe settings.

Work can be saved in .png format with a unique URL. Or, you can easily capture the resulting artwork as a screenshot.

Sketchpad 3.6 - Draw, Create, Share!

Sketchpad 3.6 - Draw, Create, Share! | technologies | Scoop.it
Sketchpad; multi-touch, multi-user, non-destructive drawing application written in HTML5.
John Dalziel's insight:

If you, and/or learners, are currently creating posters or drawings the traditional way and you'd like to offer an electronic method, I'd recommend checking out Sketchpad from Sketch.io.
Sketchpad from Sketch.io is an easy, online sketchpad that lets learners draw and create within their browser without the need to make an account.
Initially it may appear to be like all kinds of other online sketching tools you've seen.
But, if you dig into it more, you'll discover lots of features that many others lack.
The gear tool, for example, is highly customizable so that the gear can be practically any shape you'd like.
The real stand outs for me are the blending types, such as darken and overlay, that really move it up a notch. Add in layer control and it's a really full feature tool!

Sketch Toy

Sketch Toy | technologies | Scoop.it
Draw sketches with animating lines and share replays with friends!
John Dalziel's insight:

As practitioners I'm sure you will have tried out a number of online drawing tools and explored what they have to offer. If you haven't tried it check out Sketch Toy.
Sketch Toy is a free to use website offering a simple drawing interface but with a unique twist – the lines drawn can be made to appear as various degrees of shaky animations.
The canvas you are given has a texture that highlights this animated effect of shaky lines. The images created can be shared through a direct link. When people visit the link, they see the entire drawing made from start to finish, just like the user created it. Users can also download the image as a PNG file and share it but, of course, the animation effect would is lost.
P.S. the app offers a Chrome app as well.

P.P.S. With screen capture,it can be used to demonstrate maths or Science equations etc.
