This is an eye-opening map which shows the extent to which we have polluted the earth from 1960 to 2008.
Simply choose two countries you want to compare, pollution-wise, and choose the date you want to look at (from 1960 to 2008). You will then be presented with information showing how much those countries have polluted.
This has so many uses in so many subject areas.

A new web-site that features a standardised set of data called the Key Information Set (KIS).

 

The completely revised Unistats web-site provides extensive information for over 31,000 courses in the UK, including...
- student satisfaction ratings,
- graduate salaries and employment,
- tuition fees and
- financial support, and
- the cost of accommodation.

 

The new KIS data have been collated after consulting students about the information they find most useful when they are choosing higher education courses.

 

The data for each course link directly to the relevant course webpage, which provides more detail on what the course contains and how it will be taught.

Many learning providers share their updates through text, images, and videos on the social network Twitter.
Twitonomy is a free to use web service that lets users get in-depth Twitter statistics.
For each learning provider that has publicly viewable tweets, users can access a breakdown of things like total tweets, percentage values of the categories tweeted, multiple graphs of tweeting activity, and information about which user was tweeted most by an account and who was replied to the most.
Twitonomy lets organisations export tweets to an Excel sheet to keep local backups. They can find out who is not following them back, and they can even track clicks on the links in their tweets.
All of these features are offered under a single dashboard for free, thanks to Twitonomy.

Daytum is a free, customizable web page that allows users to display facts and figures in a newspaper style outlay.
I've had a play, which you can see at http://www.daytum.com/acljohn; by displaying tags from posts during 2011, users can see the comparative frequency of "blog inclusion" and, when links are clicked the dates of the blogs when they were included. This could aid location of resources etc.
