Picisto is an online service that allows users to arrange their pictures in collages, offering a number of layouts for them to choose from.

 

Users can connect with Picisto using their Facebook, Twitter or Google accounts, or they can sign up for a Picisto address.

 

Once signed in...

- select the layout

- upload pictures or export them from a Facebook account

 

Users can also add caption to their images.

 

When complete, users can save the collage and download it for printing.

From the archaeological areas of Pompeii to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, Google’s World Wonders Project aims to bring to life the wonders of the modern and ancient world.

 

The World Wonders Project is, in essence, a multimedia encyclopedia of 132 historic and notable sites across five continents.

 

A combination of Google Streetview imagery, Google Earth 3D buildings, UNESCO World Heritage information, videos, and pictures all on one page.

 

Practitioners and/or learners visiting  the World Wonders Project can move through the Streetview imagery just like they would on Google Maps.

 

The Education tab in the upper-right corner of the World Wonders Project provides access to teaching guides and media packs for places and themes featured in the World Wonders Project.

It’s basically Google Scholar but a different format.

 

One difference, from a standard Google-based search, is that Scholr.ly’s results are instantly sorted into two columns...

- publications showing titles, authors and other meta information, as well as excerpts that are easy to skim and

- authors; can have a profile that includes career information, affiliations, publication listings, common co-authors, top publishing venues, and impact metrics.

 

This provides all the information a researcher needs in a lot less time, helping researchers and fellow academics uncover new publications or authors.
