Classkick

Classkick | technologies | Scoop.it
Give students more feedback than ever! Classkick is a magic whiteboard that
students work on and get help instantly from their teacher and peers.
John Dalziel's insight:

For learning environments that have iPads for every learner, Classkick could be a great tool not only for distributing assignments but also for providing individualized feedback to learners while they are working. The option, for practitioners, to record their voice, to create questions, could be a great aid to learners who struggle with reading but otherwise would be able to answer a question or explain a process to them.

An homage to the Commodore 64's SID sounds running inside your WebKit browser
John Dalziel's insight:

For some practitioners, especially if they’re a child of the 80′s,WebSID will definitely bring back some memories.
The WebSID is a digital recreation of the iconic SID sound chip, as used in the Commodore 64.
It’s very simple and easy to use, with a straightforward interface, and can be played using a computer keyboard.
The on-screen keyboard also responds to touch if users are accessing it on a smartphone or tablet or iPad.
WebSID also comes with a built-in delay effect for more sound design possibilities.
WebSID is also available on the Chrome Web Store so practitioners, and/or their learners, can play the synth offline.
Note: It's been built using the WebAudio API, so only works in browsers that support HTML5 audio.

The Answer Pad | The Graphically-Based Student Response and Assessment System

The Answer Pad | The Graphically-Based Student Response and Assessment System | technologies | Scoop.it
John Dalziel's insight:

You don't have to change the way you teach, alter the curriculum, or jump through hoops to use technology.
The Answer Pad enables practitioners to simply ask questions, as they're teaching, and the learners reply just as they always do; the only difference is learners use their iPads or a browser.
Using iPads, with Pre-Created Templates - saves time so practitioners can focus on the content -
Practitioners can quickly change the templates for learners to submit responses; with one click!
As each student clicks "submit," their answers automatically begin to appear on the Practitioner's Dashboard so now, at quick glance, practitioners can privately assess their learner's understanding.
With The Answer Pad's free app, TapIt Free, their learners are able to answer questions using templates pushed out to their iPads.
To get started, you need to know two things.
Practitioners use The Answer Pad from their computer OR the Internet (Safari) on their iPads.
Learners use The Answer Pad from the TapIt Free app or a web browser.
