MathPickle - Fun and Challenging Math Puzzles

MathPickle - Fun and Challenging Math Puzzles | technologies | Scoop.it
Put your students in a pickle!
John Dalziel's insight:
Math Pickle is a free site that offers dozens of fun and challenging maths puzzles for learners of all ages.
The puzzles are arranged by both grade level and topic.
The puzzles...
  - can provide practitioners with a new way to challenge their learners to use their mathematics and reasoning skills and...
  - are designed so that all learners will eventually experience a "failure" and a "break-through" during the process of completing the puzzle in groups/teams.
The Math Pickle puzzles are designed to foster collaborative problem solving over the course of 45 to 60 minutes.
Most of the Math Pickle puzzles are presented as a series of small, connected problems that learners have to solve to complete the puzzle presented to them.
The puzzles themselves can be viewed as slides and or downloaded as PDFs.

Team Maker

Team Maker by Chirag Mehta and Tamara Swedberg - create random teams and groups easily
John Dalziel's insight:

Looking for quick ways to separate learners into randomized teams?
There are a number of options but Team Maker is fast, easy to use, and effective.
- Input a plain text list of names, one name per line.
- Input a separate list of potential team names.
- Select how many teams you want to generate the names for.
Based on those inputs, Team Maker will generate teams for you.
Note: The default result is an HTML output directly on the site, but you can export to an Excel CSV file if preferred.
