Ask3

Ask3 | technologies | Scoop.it
John Dalziel's insight:

Ask3 (from TechSmith, the makers of Jing and Camtasia) is...
- screencasting software,
- collaboration tool,
- differentiation platform and
- scaffolded support system all rolled into one FREE iOS app.
Learners and/or practitioners can draw on a virtual whiteboard, record their drawings, narration and even annotate over pictures.
Ask3 also...
- allows learners to automatically upload these screencasts so that they are instantly viewable from all iPads logged into the same "class".
- also gives learners the ability to comment on each other's video - from within the video timeline; they can pause the screencast and add their own comment(s), question(s) or suggestion(s). All of these comments are instantly viewable for the class and practitioner to see and reply to.
There's more.
If text isn't enough to answer a question. Peers and/or practitioners can...
- pause the video where they want to provide help,
- comment,
- ask a question or solve the problem.
Ask3 then allows them to screencast over that paused image and to create their own video response, taking over from where the original video left off.
The video response is then available for the class to view in the timeline as well.
I'm sure that's enough to enthuse potential users.

TeacherLED | Interactive Whiteboard Resources For Teachers

TeacherLED | Interactive Whiteboard Resources For Teachers | technologies | Scoop.it
John Dalziel's insight:

Spencer Riley’s Teacher LED site provides a wide range of interactive whiteboard resources.
Note: The resources on this site are accessible only through this site. No resource may be downloaded or disassembled. Users may not download this site and place it on an offline server. The site may not be loaded into frames on other sites.
However Spencer Riley informs visitors that linking to his site is appreciated as long as all links are to the main home page for general websites. If visitors wish to directly refer to a resource they are asked to link to the instruction page rather than the resource.
Why?
It ensures that users see the notes to inform their use of the resource. This is only for user convenience; not doing this is less useful to the user.

John Dalziel's insight:

Practitioners create a "Teacher's Account" which includes a unique class code. They then add learners to their network.
NOTE: Learners log in using the class code created and their password (which practitioners can view, set and change).
For the next part, I found using a graphics tablet a big plus, practitioners create sketches that, when saved, can be...
- shared with any member of their class; using the share feature OR
- embedded in a class website,
- pinned to pinterest or
- tweeted.
Practitioners can create maths questions, science diagrams or even text for learners to view and then create their reply/answer by producing their own sketch and sharing it with their practitioner (Teacher).
A BIG PLUS: sketchlot is designed to work on all current tablets, phones and computers.
Practitioners can re-share work to others, or post it for others to view. Practitioners can also create and share a sketch on their interative whiteboard in front of their class!

The Physics Classroom

The Physics Classroom is an online interactive tutorial of basic physics concepts. The lessons use an easy-to-understand language to present common physics principles discussed in physics courses.

The Physics Classroom provides access to...

- physics tutorials,

- Mind on Physics Internet Modules (1300+ questions designed to improve understanding of common physics topics),

- problem sets for practice,

- multimedia,

- animations (ideal for using on an interactive whiteboard or projector-connected PC)

- activity sheets,

- curriculum corner (pdf downloads),

- labs,

- photos, and more.

I suggest practitioners spend time exploring this site before recommending it to learners so they can help them navigate it.

There is a danger, because it is so information heavy, the Phusics Classroom could be a turn-off for learners who are just dropping in looking for something specific.
