Diagnostic Questions

Diagnostic Questions | technologies |
1000s of Diagnostic Questions for diagnosing students misunderstanding in subjects across the mathematics curriculum.
John Dalziel's insight:

Good maths questions help practitioners know more about their learners’ learning and help them to address misconceptions.
An excellent resource to help practitioners do just that is Craig Barton’s and Simon Woodhead’s Diagnostic Questions site.
The site already has in excess of 1300 multiple choice questions with carefully designed responses to address common misconceptions.
Questions are clearly categorized, and there are numerous sub-categories under the main headings of...
- Number,
- Algebra,
- Shape,
- Space and Measure,
- Data and Statistics and
- Post 16 – Pure.
Registering allows practitioners to create their own quizzes and save them for later use.

Nicola Simpson flagged this up, via our Functional Skills Forum. In Nicola's words...

"I have found this really valuable free resource to help with Maths.

They are short courses consisting of…
     ·a diagnostic,
     ·a tutorial,
     ·a handout and
You may want to use one or all parts with your learners.
The videos are clear and make good use of demonstrations and examples."
