Virtual Juicing Assistant | technologies |
Juice, Drink, Live. Get healthy with Budget Direct’s Simply Smarter Juicing interactive
John Dalziel's insight:

Juicing Assistant is an interesting site where visitors can combine different fruits into a blender and it will make a "virtual juice" for them.
At the start, users are given the nutritional value of each fruit (to be fair they are not all fruits), and when the juice has been made, it will give them the nutritional numbers, as well as show them other juice recipes they may like.

A Complete Guide to Kitchen Tools

A Complete Guide to Kitchen Tools | technologies |
Can your learners identify a rotary grater? Or a mandoline? How about a spider?

The infographic, by Brooklyn-based Pop Chart Lab, organises a range of cooking utensils into a single, digestible flow chart.

The Tools are...

* arranged by function;
* broken up into sub-categories...
o slicers;
o presses;
o spoons; etc.

Graphic icons give each tool a simple visual identity.
Michael Yang's curator insight, May 12, 2015 11:54 AM

This is a flow chart infographic. It does a great job with breaking visuals up into subcategories, like a flow chart. However,  there are too many subcategories, which can be confusing to whoever is looking at the infographic.

Molly Frances Sheridan's curator insight, May 13, 2016 8:48 PM

This is obviously a flow chart infograph. I think they did a nice job with the layout but probably could've included less things in it so that it wouldn't be so overwhelming looking.

Whats on the menu?

Whats on the menu? | technologies |
John Dalziel's insight:

The New York Public Library hosts an Archive of 17,000 menus.
A collection that could be a boon to researchers, as well as curious gourmands, foodies, and others.
It is also a resource that could be of use to design, catering, history and many other courses.
Be warned, it could make you feel very hungry and/or put you off food, depending on which menus you look at.

ShowMeTheCurry - YouTube

ShowMeTheCurry - YouTube | technologies |
Easy to follow, step-by-step Indian cooking videos showcasing cuisine from all regions of India.

These Youtube videos effectively provide all the information needed to create mouth watering treats!

There are countless learners, in learning environments everywhere, who struggle to be successful with written recipes.

These same learners would do just fine with a recipe presented in a video format. They can watch it as many times as they need, 24/7, until they get their heads around the skills/techniques needed.

By the same token, teachers have no reason not to offer multiple options for learners to share what they know and to express their creativity! Text is only one way to share information. Numerous alternatives are equally effective, if not superior.
