Sync Video - watch youtube and vimeo videos together

Sync Video - watch youtube and vimeo videos together | technologies | Scoop.it
Ever wanted to watch a video on YouTube or Vimeo simultaneously with your friends, who are not exactly sitting next to you? Now you can watch videos synchronized!
John Dalziel's insight:

Watching YouTube videos with learners is engaging but what if learners are not in the same place as the practitioner, or even in the same country? Sync Video offers the opportunity to create an online room where practitioners and their learners can watch a YouTube video simultaneously, by having it synced to all those who are in the room watching it.
Does this have potential in BYOD, Flipped learning, etc., as well?

Sounds really useful for distance learning, particularly if you need to explain additional info for people with sensory impairments - you know you are describing the bit they've got to rather than some other random bit of the video!

sketchlot - Create a sketch, share it with learners

sketchlot - Create a sketch, share it with learners | technologies | Scoop.it
John Dalziel's insight:

Practitioners create a "Teacher's Account" which includes a unique class code. They then add learners to their network.
NOTE: Learners log in using the class code created and their password (which practitioners can view, set and change).
For the next part, I found using a graphics tablet a big plus, practitioners create sketches that, when saved, can be...
- shared with any member of their class; using the share feature OR
- embedded in a class website,
- pinned to pinterest or
- tweeted.
Practitioners can create maths questions, science diagrams or even text for learners to view and then create their reply/answer by producing their own sketch and sharing it with their practitioner (Teacher).
A BIG PLUS: sketchlot is designed to work on all current tablets, phones and computers.
Practitioners can re-share work to others, or post it for others to view. Practitioners can also create and share a sketch on their interative whiteboard in front of their class!
