My husband and I work in rural areas in Virginia and there is often a sign at the front door of the school. So sad because the libraries are not open late, and many of the schools prohibit most of the Internet.

Very interesting to see we getting innovative in the application of technology integration in education. Technology is here to stay and through technology students enhance their learning to be critical thinkers. Delete the scoop?

Librarians are amazing resources and The Digital Shift is the "home for all technology-related stories and features published by 'Library Journal' and 'School Library Journal'." For Digital Learning Day they published a list of resources that are focused on digital learning, organizing them into the following categories: * Research/Curation * Ebooks/Reading * Common Core * Online Tools * Apps * The Big Picture These posts are written many people, including Richard Byrne (FreeTech4Teachers) and Joyce Valenza (NeverEndingSearch). I have posted a few of this articles here but there are many others that I have found valuable listed in this post. Have fun checking them out and finding new resources! Delete the scoop?

A convenient way to edit your presentations offline. However, you can't edit spreadsheets offline yet and you need to use Chrome browser. Android or iOS users still have to wait. Delete the scoop?

I completely agree with CERT. There are number of useful blogs and websites that keep the communication in the focus. Engaging both learners and other teachers is the essence of a good educational blog.

This is a useful experience of developing writing skills. As a follow-up activity, writing by way of blogging could enable students to get a feel for the issue studied, and assume responsibity for public writing. Delete the scoop?

This list of 16 apps and tools are the favorite picks from Edudemic. There are a range of suggested apps, ranging from learning basic sign language (Marlee Signs) to free textbooks (Boundless) to Duolingo (learn a foreign language). Many others are listed in this post and some may be new to you!
