IBM has taken a serious interest in exploring the boundaries of blockchain technology, as they want to see how distributed ledgers can integrate with existing infrastructure. Over the past few months, there have been several successes for the company, including the Linux Foundation’s Hyperledger Project, as well as creating their own Open Blockchain service. But IBM is not resting on their laurels, as they want to further investigate the usage of blockchain technology for driverless cars and in Internet of Things environments. Shadowchains can play an integral part in the company plans.

Startup Management » How Many Blockchain Identities Will We Have?

Startup Management » How Many Blockchain Identities Will We Have? | Big Data - Analytics | Scoop.it

The subject of blockchain identity has resurfaced with Deloitte’s recent announcement on the availability of its smart identity platform for developers, based on Ethereum. This isn’t really a new development, since Deloitte UK had already announced they were working on a proof of concept around identity in May 2016. It’s a well thought framework that has “three main components: individual identity-creation, institutional identity creation and analytics.” So, the ball is now in the developers’ court to dream-up the variety of applications that can drive the usage of that platform.

By : William Mougayar. The short answer is that we’ll likely have as many blockchain identities as we currently hold ID’s in our wallets and online identities combined, because a blockchain identity crosses the physical to online world due to the melding of the trust factor between these two semi-artificial boundaries.

By Kelly Hill.

The view of what constitutes IoT is evolving from the days when the telecom industry more or less equated the nature of IoT traffic to something like radio frequency ID: light, bursty traffic that could be handled by carrier 2G networks, and was a way to further monetize those long-standing investments.
