AT&T launches new data plans – MacDailyNews - Welcome Home

There were rumblings of new data plans for AT&T but apparently they are true. They have changed their data plans for both smartphones and the iPads. The changes go into effect later this month and are an increase in data for the iPads but at a cost of $5 more for 3 Gbs of data compared to $25 for 2Gigs. Anyone who has the current plan can keep it as long as it isn't cancelled. For a deeper breakdown of details follow the link to Mac Daily News who has covered this in depth.

More than 40% of smartphones owners who use Research in Motion BlackBerry, Microsoft Windows Phone and Google Android platforms prefer Apple's iPad to tablets from their current smartphone operating system makers, according to a recent survey.

Although the iPad 2 is dominating the tablet market, the rumor mill is out saying that the iPad 3 will ship in late February to early March. These rumors have not slowed iPads growth but will ensure Apple's dominance in the market. Some say that the iPad 2 and 3 will be sold side by side to grab a lower price market.. which may in turn cause serious pain to the Nook and Kindle Fire.

The SOPA Blackout Created a Big Problem

SOPA has been a big deal for many online sites like The Lounge we produce videos where we interview artists and singers, film makers and more. On occasion we use TV footage to show some of the talents who are actually on TV. If this new law passes and someone reports this site, the law permits the host of this site to take it down. We don't like the idea of such limits no matter how legit the reason. Now many sites are planning a major blackout to protest this potential law.
Like any good protest, it created a news event that brought large-scale awareness to something that's wrong with the world.

TouchFire: The Screen-Top Keyboard for iPad

TouchFire makes your iPad feel like a normal keyboard! TouchFire puts the "touch" back into typing on an iPad. You can now feel where the keys are and rest your fingers on the home row, so you can type as fast and accurately as you can on a laptop.

We have been keeping an eye on this product for some time. The product lays on top of your iPad 2 and stays on it by using The magnets hidden throughout. The keys line up to the basic keyboard layout in them screen and allow for tactile feedback. When not in use the keyboard safely and softly stores away without the threat of loosing it. Check out this slick idea to make the iPad feel more like a magic laptop. Designed and developed by engineers, who have designed amazing technology products, it's a must see at least.
