7 Key Findings for Successful Education Technology Integrations | Emerging Education Technology | Tech for Teachers | Scoop.it

Have you heard of Project RED (hint - RED stands for revolutionizing education)? They have "conducted a national survey of educational technology that focused on student achievement and financial implications."

There are seven key findings. These are listed below and additional information on each is in the post.

1. Nine key implementation factors [that] are linked most strongly to education success.

2. Properly implemented technology saves money.

3. 1:1 schools employing key implementation factors outperform all schools and all other 1:1 schools.

4. The principal's ability to lead change is critical. Change must be modeled and championed at the principal level.

5. Technology-transformed intervention improves learning.

6. Online collaboration increases learning productivity and student engagement.

7. Daily use of technology delivers the best return on investment (ROI).

The Teacher’s Guide To Using Screencasts In The Classroom

The Teacher’s Guide To Using Screencasts In The Classroom | Tech for Teachers | Scoop.it

Wonderful article for those thinking about how to flip their classrooms. Most of these tools are super easy to use so if you're comfortable with computers, you'll be able to jump right in. Librarians: think about how you could use screencasting to save time (and provide reinforcement) when teaching students how to search with Boolean operators or how to use the school's online catalog!

Educational Technology

Educational Technology | Tech for Teachers | Scoop.it
Educational Technology, various technologies in schools, instructional technology specialists are rapidly becoming key participants in reshaping the learning process.

Educational technology specialists are individuals with proficiency in technology and computers with an aptitude for teaching. They play an important role in selecting the appropriate technology for classroom applications including meeting the needs of special education students.

An educational technology specialist has one foot in the field of technology and IT and other foot in the field of education and teaching. They are able to foresee the kind of impact which the technological advances have on the society. They also see how to use these technological advances for the benefit of the society in the form of advances in delivering teaching aids.

With the ever changing advances in technology, is it fair to say that all students are now educational technology specialists?

Students need to understand the impact that advances in technology will have on society and the Australian Curriculum:Technologies allows students develop ICT capability as they learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately (ACARA,2013).
