The Difference Between Doing Projects Versus Learning Through Projects | Tech & Education | Scoop.it

"We’ve clarified the difference between projects and project-based learning before. Projects are about the product, while project-based learning is about the process."

50 Professional Development Tips for the New Year

50 Professional Development Tips for the New Year | Tech & Education | Scoop.it

There is never a better time than “NOW” to start working on one’s own professional development as a teacher.  However, often unless by chance you find yourself in the perfect school with perfect colleagues – it is hard to get started and you’ll find yourself in a rut teaching the same thing in the same way (or different things in the same way), over and over.

Here’s a list that will certainly contain something to “prime the pump” and get you started developing more as an educator. Not all will be for you – but many will. Find what will work for you.

Bloom's Verb Wheel and Bloom's Web2.0 Wheel | Tech & Education | Scoop.it

Two looks at Bloom's - one is a verb wheel and the other is a web2.0 wheel. The Verb Wheel shows the domains as well as appropriate verbs and possible student projects. The Web 2.0 Wheel also includes suggestions of Web 2.0 tools you might use.

Before We Flip Classrooms, Let's Rethink What We're Flipping To

Before We Flip Classrooms, Let's Rethink What We're Flipping To | Tech & Education | Scoop.it

We're hearing a lot of talk about education in these back-to-school days, but a few conversations rise above the din. One such is the chatter about "flipped classrooms," in which students listen to lectures at home and do homework at school. We also hear names like TED, Codecademy, Khan Academy and Knowmia bandied about, not to mention the term "MOOC" and such brands as Udacity, Coursera, MITx, edX . . . What's it all about?
