I have not used QR codes in my classes, but they do look interesting if you can find a meaningful way to use them.  This article gives step-by-step instructions on how to download the program onto mobile devices and gives 10 ideas of how to use them in classes.  If anyone tries to do this, please let me know how it goes.

I have always wanted to use QR codes in the classroom, but aside from borrowed materials, I was unsure of how to begin. This resource, "10 ways to Use QR Codes in the Classroom" gives step-by-step directions for getting started, as well as links, and ideas for when to use QR codes to engage students.
