Ginger Zillges and Dr. Chris Nickel presented at the Annual Distance teaching and Learning Conference in Madison, Wisconsin. They reported on how deans and faculty collaborated across schools and units to develop a hybrid Teacher-Scholar Program (TSP) for faculty at Regent. TSP is offered in the Spring semester and participants are nominated by their deans. The newly refined program was originated to provide a learning community to new faculty and to discuss topics related to teaching, scholarship and university service and collegiality. Participants engage in thoughtful dialogue about Regent’s mission and how faith and reason impact each sphere of influence. The culminating project is an e-portfolio that includes a Philosophy of Teaching, an instructional design plan, and a scholarship agenda.
