Drucker’s Knowledge Worker in the Age of Social Media: Content Curation for Professional Development

Drucker’s Knowledge Worker in the Age of Social Media: Content Curation for Professional Development | teaching with technology | Scoop.it

"Over half a century ago, management guru Peter Drucker presented the concept of the knowledge worker. Compared to the manual laborer, the knowledge worker focused on quality over quantity and worked more independently as problem solvers."

Over the many applications of Social Content Curation, Professional Development has been a strong trend. We keep observing it on Scoop.it but it's also been reported by Social Media influencers.

As more and more of us become Knowledge Worker, it should be no suprise that Content takes a growing importance on our Professional lives. So here's our take on it and why we announced this new integration with LinkedIn earlier today.

Why Is Facebook Blue? The Science Behind Colors In Marketing

Why Is Facebook Blue? The Science Behind Colors In Marketing | teaching with technology | Scoop.it

There are some amazing examples of how colors actually affect our purchasing decisions. After all, sight is the strongest developed sense in most human beings. It’s only natural that 90% of an assessment for trying out a product is made by color alone.

So how do colors really affect us, and what is the science of colors in marketing, really? As we strive to make improvements to online products, studying this phenomenon is key. Find some of the latest, most interesting research on the subject at the article link...

Top Tech Trends and People of 2012

Here is the textbook that I created/curated for teaching my New Media Technology class during the Spring semester of 2012 at Hannam University's Linton Global College. I took great effort to give credit where it is due. I aimed to show my students how they could access enough free info on the web that was of equal or greater value than the wonderful information found in expensive textbooks. Feel free to share and please support the true authors of this book in any way you can (money, likes, blog comments, links, etc.) I am simply the currator of this content.

The Social Web: People Don't Share Facts, People Share Feelings

The Social Web: People Don't Share Facts, People Share Feelings | teaching with technology | Scoop.it

I selected this piece by Kathi Kruse because I agree with what she's saying and I'm experiencing this myself everyday.

Intro:

"There's a major shift on the web and  a big change on social networks in how people spend their time.

**They're spending less time interacting with facts and more time communicating with people.

**this fundamental re-architecture of the web is going to affect almost all businesses, because almost all businesses revolve around people"

Excerpt:

"The new web means spending less time interacting with facts & more time communicating with people".

Here are some highlights that caught my attention:

**Whether it’s sharing a post on Social Media or sharing their experience in real life, people forward their “feelings” to their network, online or offline.

**Content that triggers arousing emotions drives that behavior

**Google unveiled the "Knowledge Graph" in May and called it the "First Sep in Next Generation Search"

**Google wants users to spend less tinme searching and more time interacting with their network

**What this neans for dealers is you must build your store's knowledge footprint.

**It's important how Google knows you. It's important how your customers/audience knows you

**Facts are no longer relevant unless they're perceived as coming from a trustworthy source.

**Facts about your business married with passion and personal experience equaols trust in your brand
