Great Tutorial on How to Create your Own eBook on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Great Tutorial on How to Create your Own eBook on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Teaching with Tablets | Scoop.it

"Creating an eBook online is no rocket science and anyone with the rudimentary knowledge of how to use internet can get his/her eBook up and viral in a couple of minutes provided the content part of it is already written in a word document. I find the typing and editing part the most  difficult stage in this process;  however, if you just want to set up a short ebook for your students then that would not take you much time.

Just a couple of weeks ago I shared here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning a list of great apps  to use to create eBooks on iPad and I received several emails following that post and some of you asked for tutorials on this topic. Here is one of my favorite tutorials on how to create an eBook on iPad that I always recommend to my fellow teachers. Check it out below and share with us what you think of it. Enjoy"

Stefanie Stewart Crosser's curator insight, September 20, 2014 5:08 PM

There are various ways to use technology in the classroom, but how long does it take to prepare lessons through technology? They say "Don't take your work home" because it can seriously affect one's family and home-life, but is there enough time in the day to prepare effective lessons without taking your job home? Teachers are not paid enough to create their own lesson plans using technology - let along to teach, with all of the constant changing standards!

Adobe Slate - Yet Another Way to Create a Photo Story - iPad Apps for School

Adobe Slate is designed to help you create a visual story from the pictures on your iPad, from the web, from an Adobe online account, or from a Dropbox account. You start your story by importing a cover picture and writing story title. You then add pictures one-by-one and write captions for each. You can also write headlines for each image. One convenient feature of Adobe Slate is that the integrated image search tool will import Creative Commons attributions with the images you select. Adobe Slate has a dozen or so filters or themes that you can apply to your story. Completed stories can be published online through a variety of channels including Adobe’s platform, Facebook, Twitter, or embedding into a blog post.

"It’s no secret iPad deployments are a slog for schools. But all that may be changing.

There are few staples of the classroom more recognisable than the Post-it note. Used in a plethora of ways to engage students and capture learning, I can’t think of many teachers who wouldn’t, at some point in their career, have tried out the Post-it to see what it could offer them.
The Post-it Plus app takes that most beloved of classroom accessory and gives it a digital edge.
In the video below, I explain why you should give it a try for yourself.

Here are 10 worth investigating with your children. It’s iOS-heavy, which sadly reflects the priority being given (or, rather, not given) to other platforms by developers of these kinds of apps."
