All The Resources Teachers Need to Start Using Edmodo in Class | Tech in teaching | Scoop.it
May 29, 2014
Edmodo is one of my favourite free learning platforms that I have been recommending for teachers and students over the last couple of years. The potential of Edmodo in education is huge...

With this link, you will have everything you need to know about the platform.

Ness Crouch's curator insight, June 6, 11:24 PM

I like Edmodo as a tool for younger students but I'm not sure I want to introduce this into my classroom at the moment. I'm happy with how my learners are interacting and progressing in the online world.

Anna Davis's curator insight, September 9, 8:10 AM

I love Edmodo and have used it with my students.  I can easily upload documents, pictures, videos and share them with my students.

Vance Stevens's curator insight, October 1, 2013 11:27 AM

Nik Peachey recommended this one, and I commented that I am using Any Video Converter to extract mp3s from YouTube videos (and sometimes using them in classrooms with no Internet).  It's free and works quite well, http://www.any-video-converter.com/

Ilana Rosansky's curator insight, October 2, 2013 1:26 AM

I often download short videos from YouTube and elsewhere but also often experience various download 'problems'. I am optimistic that this may solve those problems... Looks good!

How To Convert Prezi To YouTube Videos

How To Convert Prezi To YouTube Videos | Tech in teaching | Scoop.it
Anyone who has used the Prezi platform would know that creating a Prezi and uploading it to Prezi.com is easy enough, however when it comes to converting it to a YouTube video, there seems to be no native method of doing so...

Very interesting!

Prezi makes wonderful slideshows. Converting them to video is explained here.

Mary Clark's curator insight, June 27, 11:58 AM

Clear directions for converting Prezis into videos for the flipped library.  (typos in the demo Prezi, though!)

How to capture and share video of your screen with Jing

How to capture and share video of your screen with Jing | Tech in teaching | Scoop.it

Jing tutorial: Capture a video: Jing can capture and share videos (up to five minutes long) from your computer screen. Narrating a quick video is a great way to show someone exactly what you mean.

Via Becky Roehrs, Bhushan THAPLIYAL
Carmenne K. Thapliyal's insight:

The download is free and this seems to be quite  an interesting tool but recording is restricted to 5 minute long videos. So am not sure how useful a tool like this would be.

Becky Roehrs's curator insight, October 15, 2013 3:38 PM

Jing is a free way to get started with recording videos (and making screen shots you can dress up a bit) After I felt comfortable, I moved up to their paid tool, Snagit. I don't work for them, just like their products..

EssayTagger: grading essays made easy

EssayTagger: grading essays made easy | Tech in teaching | Scoop.it
EssayTagger is a web-based tool that helps teachers grade essays faster by eliminating the repetitive and inefficient aspects of grading papers. EssayTagger is not an auto-grader. You still do all the grading yourself, but now you can do it faster!

Via Ana Cristina Pratas, Elizabeth E Charles, Bhushan THAPLIYAL
Carmenne K. Thapliyal's insight:

A great tool that allows teachers to comment on essays and generate a rubric with personalised comments that students and teachers can keep track of over a period of time.
