Top 8 Web Tools for Teacher's Professional Development ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Teaching in Higher Education | Scoop.it

"I have been recently posting about teacher's professional development using web technologies and each time I do I would get emails asking for the tools I use personally.  I compiled a list of the top 8 platforms I use almost daily for expanding my knowledge and staying updated about the topics that interest me the most.

Being a graduate researcher in the field of educational technology and from my own experience of several years  blogging in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning, I highly recommend the tools below and I personally view them as the most important platforms for growing professionally."

We need to recognize the fact that our education system is NOT BROKEN but has simply become OBSOLETE. It no longer meets the needs of the present and future generation.

Très utile pour se lancer dans les capsules !

Alison Rostetter's curator insight, March 26, 11:02 AM
I let my business class do presentations on screen-casting.  It gets them a speaking grade for the end of term.  The reason I do this is a) so they can get it out of the way whenever they have time - the deadline is fairly long and b) they tend to take more trouble over it than if it were just an ordinary presentation, in front of the class.

I will definitely have some feedback after reviewing these tools to create online assessments. Creating assessments is an important first step because you don't give the prescription on how to fix a business before you've figured out what the problem are-that's why you begin with the assessments- they become your base starting point of reference. This article has tools to help you create those online assessments.Let me know which are your favorite tools.

Getting Started with Responsive Web Design - ProfHacker - The Chronicle of Higher Education

Getting Started with Responsive Web Design - ProfHacker - The Chronicle of Higher Education | Teaching in Higher Education | Scoop.it

Last week, I talked about how to update your website and mentioned the importance of considering responsive web design. The concept of responsive web design is relatively new, and it can have implications for any web project you or your students are working on. Why? This morning alone, I have checked websites on my iPad, iPhone, laptop and computer. I’ve opened four windows on one screen and narrowed them down to all display at once so I have the references I need for writing this post. Responsive web design is a reaction to this type of workflow: a set of principles for building websites to make sure that they display properly and remain accessible across all these screens.
