Joaquin J. Martínez's curator insight, May 4, 8:08 AM

15 Reasons Why We Should Be Teaching Our Kids To Code

15 Reasons Why We Should Be Teaching Our Kids To Code | Teaching History in Bilingual classrooms | Scoop.it

Should we be teaching our to kids code? Hell yea! How do I know? I’m a teacher and I see much of the present curriculum just plain tedious, rote memorization. I also have witnessed the decline in creativity in the classroom, year after year it is whittled away. Not much left today, and even teachers who value it above all else, have had the wind blown out of their sails."

Reading, writing, 'rithmetic, code  Makes sense to me.

Keetah Brough's comment, April 26, 9:18 AM
no. if we've stopped teaching long division i definitely code is about as obsolete unless one wants to take it.
Ken Ronkowitz's comment, April 26, 10:55 AM
coding teaches a lot about critical thinking, logic and the beautiful economy of clean code. but teaching it because you think you are creating coders is useless.
