What fun! Too bad the writing is almost illegible in places because of the overzealous watermarking....

The 12 verb tenses and what they can be used for. please re-scoop as it is a must for people learning English grammar

Riley Cavanagh's curator insight, April 7, 2014 6:37 PM

Once you have finished reading this article, create two rows, either for 'Simple', 'Continuous', 'Perfect' or'Perfect Continuous' and using your own words fill these out with a Past, Present and Future tense sentences.

e.g: I threw a ball yesterday - I threw a ball today - I will throw a ball tomorrow.

Once you have done this, compare with a group and discuss the following:

1) Why this is an important piece of information for 21st Century Learners?

2) Why do verb tenses need to be considered in our writing?

How AudioBooks Help Raise Reading Scores - Teachers With Apps

How AudioBooks Help Raise Reading Scores - Teachers With Apps | Teaching | Scoop.it

"Audiobooks have been used in classrooms for decades because listening builds critical listening, comprehension and fluency skills.  Oral language precedes written language (i.e. developmentally), making listening an important component of language acquisition.  In fact, there are reading methods such as The Daily 5 which include listening as a component of reading instruction..."

10 Trendy Concepts in Educational Technology Every Teacher should Know about | Teaching | Scoop.it

"The world of educational technology has been exponentially expanded in the last couple of decades with the birth of several new educational concepts founded on digital media. The digital terminology is growing up rapidly to the point that it becomes hard for teachers to keep track of all the digital concepts that spur up here and there."

Digital Experiences and Expectations of Tomorrow’s Teachers

Digital Experiences and Expectations of Tomorrow’s Teachers | Teaching | Scoop.it

This new report, “Learning in the 21st Century: Digital Experiences and Expectations of Tomorrow’s Teachers,” is the latest in the series and provides new insights that will inform college and university based teacher preparation programs as well as the induction and professional development processes within K-12 schools and districts. Tomorrow’s teachers may have the keys to finally unlock the potential of technology to transform teaching and learning, but much depends upon their experiences in their preparation program and how well future school leadership can support their expectations for essential technology tools and resources.

Interesting report which seems to be highlighting the failure of teacher training course to adequately incorporate and prepare new teachers with and for the use of digital technologies.

Ilana Rosansky's curator insight, August 9, 2013 1:09 AM

I'd say that an opportunity to 'unlock the potential' is a real attraction.... The question is: how many will seize the opportunity?

Ben Bempong's curator insight, July 30, 2015 3:20 PM

Technology looks like the future of impacting teachers and experiences in the classroom.  Preparation is very key in route to having good induction and professional development processes with the K-12 schools and districts.

Fall Classes start mid-September.  Tuition of $415 per unit is the same for in-state, out of state and international students.  Tuition is frozen at this level for the next two years.

If you are a returning student registration is a breeze, just email me with the name of the course you want to take and I'll make it happen!  ~ Dennis ( oconnord@uwstout.edu )

This is a nice simple browser based whiteboard app that runs in the browser on most devices. Would be nice to have a few more features, such as import images etc, but there is also a lot to be said for simplicity.

Nenad Mirkov's curator insight, August 7, 2013 7:11 AM

Easy and usefull :)

Lorie Callander's curator insight, August 16, 2013 11:45 AM

I am trying this too. We'll see. There is also a teacher sign-up for limited sharing with and among students etc. I just want a whiteboard that I can easily access without making plans to leave my classroom to go to where the, difficult to navigate and use, whiteboard is.
