This is pretty much an ad for emaze, but it's good to know what is available commercially in terms of presentations.

Ness Crouch's curator insight, April 5, 2015 12:59 AM

Interesting list. Worth checking out some of these tools to see if I like them better than Prezi :)

“Now I existed solely thanks to the quantum paradox, my brain a collection of qubits in quantum superposition, encoding truths and memories, imagination and irrationality in opposing, contradictory states that existed and didn't exist, all at the same time.” ― Robin Wasserman, Crashed

  • WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

The  key factors are: Learners’ age, back ground knowledge, the purpose of learning, the learners’ circumstances (employed, students, unemployed, etc…)

  • DO YOU HAVE THE COURSE CURRICULUM?

In many cases the course curriculum does exist, for example: National Curriculum, University course modules , In-house corporate training.

  • WHAT EXTERNAL PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS NEED TO BE MET?

All external examination bodies provide an exam guide or syllabus which you have to insure your course will address them.

  • WHAT IS THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT?

Would your learners attend any face to face classes? Do they access their course from home, work, or college? Do they work as a group or individuals?

This seems to be one of the microblogging platforms of choice for teens at the moment. It centres around creative expression and although you can use it through the browser it has been designed for use on mobile. Great for creating video, audio and image up dates. Very nicely designed platform.

Elizabeth Catania's curator insight, November 25, 2013 2:05 PM

I think it is so exciting to teach English pedagogy through multimedia. New Literacies as they call it, is so innovative and truly allows a student to make deeper, more menaingful connections from what they already know to what they are working towards learning. Knowledge is only power when you can use it and apply it as you share what you know with others!

Bubbl.us made this list and I think it can be a great educational tool! Mind mapping helps learners to organize information more clearly, and clearly organized content is essential to retaining  information. There are other interesting tools here as well.

I simply could not help scooping the BaiBoard app (sentiment towards the name of the tool) but I also see it as a perfect tool for real-time presentation of collaborative work done by a group of students. The app offers you a zoomable multi-page whiteboard and lets you collaborate even on PDF documents. And it is free!

Pearletta Wilson's curator insight, August 30, 2013 11:57 AM

Looks interesting - just wonder if it will be useful for our sessions. I'll need to think of a suitable purpose before I suggest it as an app for our ipads.

This infographic is designed as a comic and explains the ins and outs of using Creative Common images. You might consider using it with students. Originally designed in German this is an English translation by the designer. The infographic designed in German provides an explanation as to how you might read the infographic as a comic, providing short descriptions for each section. You may access the German version at this link: http://www.bildersuche.org/creative-commons-infografik.php and if you use Google translator it will translate the text of the article (but not the infographic).

Dean Mantz's curator insight, July 29, 2013 12:37 AM

As a teacher that strongly believes in visual learning, this is a highly recommended visual to aid in the introduction and understanding of what Creative Commons is and how to use it properly.
