As an aspiring Learning Enhancement teacher, I would be interested in introducing iPads or tablets into the classrooms of students with Autism, to grasp an understanding of their assistance in the learning process. One of the resources featured includes the application ‘Draw and Tell’ enables students to draw pictures on a story board, narrate their own story and play it back. I would attempt to integrate all ten of the resources featured, and then ask the following questions to students: Which resource did you find the most enjoyable to use? When would you use any one of these particular resources, and do you believe it would help you overcome some of the challenges you face with Autism?
I re-scooped this site as I believe it has an extremely high educational value for students, especially those with learning difficulties. This site is a great way for students to consolidate their understanding of numeracy. Students who may be at a lower learning capacity than their year level, can readily access a wide range of teaching and interactive game resources to help get them catch up. This site is also visually appealing, and interactive, which therefore allows students, especially those with in learning enhancement that may have short attention spans at times, to get away from the books and experience something different.
This site offers a wide range of teaching resources for all students, especially for those students who may need extra help and guidance – those of which may be a part of a Learning Enhancement class. There are thousands of activities available, broken into year level stages, ranging from all topics commonly taught in classrooms, such as English, Maths, Science, Art, Religious Education, HSIE, ICT and HPE.
Activities available include counting correct change using coins, to an interactive ‘Viking Quest’. This site would therefore be valuable to all students as they are able to participate in innovative online activities in areas that they may be experiencing difficulty in. These activities are readily available to students outside the classroom, which is advantageous as parents can then help to continue with the same learning process if need be, outside the classroom.
