The number of students taking at least one course online grew by 9.3 percent from the fall of 2010 to the fall of 2011, according to the Babson Survey Research Group’s latest annual survey of more than 2,500 colleges and universities. and when I say this most people say 'but I like to learn', and they obviously missed the point... think pre-language humans / post-language humans, we will take for granted that everyone masters our language, id est the sum of all human knowledge.
dephunked's comment, January 29, 2013 4:47 PM
we´ll take the worlds knowledge for granted, just like our previous language, just like our tap-water, just like we´ve always assimilated our technology and made it a part of who we are, our cultural/social identity, it´s the human condition,
Chandan Gupta's curator insight, April 2, 2013 3:39 PM

Of course, it should be in system should be synced, but not as a whole. Partially, the system can be implemented. In my point of view it is must to adopt the advancement. Avoiding the thinking of classroom, the system must understand about the participation of the student.

This looks like a great tool to create review quizzes, using Youtube as content curation.

e_learnglobal's comment, January 9, 2013 2:46 PM
Here is an update:After an hour trying to work Blubbr out, here's my feedback:

1. There is no help which makes it hard to work it out. It is beta, so i guess it will come

2. All the marketing and reviews make it appear you can play the whole video, when in fact you can only select a series of 30 second clips from the video. Therefore, don't see this as a particularly helpful review tool for training and development, more for people who enjoy trivia and quizzes.

Shame, because it looked promising!

Data Visualization: Communication & Creativity

Data Visualization: Communication & Creativity | Teaching and Learning in HE | Scoop.it

Visual communication skills are alien to some in the research industry, but they needn’t be. Data visualisation can become part of the research process through smart hiring, skills training and expert partnerships.

Data visualisation should not be regarded as an end in itself; the real point to data visualisation - the value that it brings to research buyers and suppliers - is as an aid to storytelling. It’s about seeing the patterns in the data that flush out a story and then help you to start telling that story. Only by doing that can you move data off the spreadsheet and out into the real world of consumer behaviour and preferences.

The best analogy and the one used frequently, is with journalism. It’s no surprise either that many great examples of data visualisation come from the publishing and media sectors. Journalists face the same challenge that we do of sifting large amounts of often conflicting data to arrive at a truth or an insight...
