@Christine: Even so, it's very affordable ($19/y is less than $2 a month). It not being free might actually be a good thing, since you get good support with your subscription and we can pay our bills, so the product will not get closed down anytime soon. This is an interesting free app for creating short audio broadcasts, like a mobile audio Twitter feed. Nice way to get students listening and speaking.

We definitely need help to decide what app will work best for any given context. It is great to learn from other teachers how they are using apps in an actual classroom. Delete the scoop?

Research shows that mind maps (graphic organizers) are effective during all stages of learning. You can use them as an introduction to a unit, during the unit for continued note taking, or at the conclusion as a formative assessment to make sure your students truly understand the material.

This is a really useful cloud based tool for converting file types. It can be so annoying if you are working with large groups and not everyone has the same software, so this can really help with the problem. Delete the scoop?

I find it extremely useful in revisiting texts and consolidating language. Especially with the features it has to add/ remove words to reconstruct the whole texts it is engaging and educational.

I wish when I was in high school I was more encouraged to learn math, science and computer science. And more girls are needed in this field.

For some reason computer programing as a career seemed to take a back seat to other math/science/computer careers, esp.during the late 90s. Now it is time to get back to that, a million programers needed in the next 10 years is a great opportunity for many kids, I hope they do more to target more girls, not just boys.

The voting 'eggs' in the suitcase, where each needed to be programmed, are obsolete. Students and teachers can use their web devices to quickly set up polls and other interactive feedback quickly and easily with web based options, of which this is one of the simplest. For iPad users, check out NearPod, Socrative, or Doceri, each with its own feature ist, to see which works best for you! It can be difficult to move from traditonal modes of presentation to building interaction into instruction, but I am trying to plan future PD courses using this type of technology. I would love feedback from teachers and professional development specialists about what works, pitfalls to look out for, and any other resources that you may suggest.
