Ge The Most out of Google Maps with These Excellent Apps

Ge The Most out of Google Maps with These Excellent Apps | learning and teaching | Scoop.it
Google Maps is an excellent tool to use with students to develop their spatial thinking. Beyond getting driving or walking directions, this tool enables students to discover the world right from their classrooms. It is also a very good way to teach students about geography concepts, distance measurement, map readings and other fundamentals of mapping such as longitude, latitude, locations and many more.

The Profile of a Modern Teacher | Infographic | learning and teaching | Scoop.it

One of the greatest misconceptions in education today is that certain teachers have a higher natural aptitude in technology than others.

This inspirational graphic sets out to disprove that notion and remind the audience that external skills are only a function of the internal dispositions that allowed them to grow.

Me parece excelente infografía, porque ciertamente lo más importante es cómo internamente es el profesor y no la tecnología que está afuera esperando ser utilizada. Buena infografía para tenerla en cualquier conferencia para motivar cambio.

The Modern Workplace Learning Landscape: it's more than telling people what to learn | eSkills

The Modern Workplace Learning Landscape: it's more than telling people what to learn | eSkills | learning and teaching | Scoop.it
UPDATED 2 NOVEMBER 2014 I was recently asked to summarise my view on the evolving modern workplace learning landscape and L&D’s role in it, so here it is. Although people learn in many different ways, L&D has for a long time concentrated its attention on creating, delivering and managing courses.

Despite the fact it has moved from a classroom to an e-learning (or even blended learning) approach, it still revolves around telling people what, how and when to learn. Although there has been a lot written about the ineffectiveness of training and the unappealing nature of much e-learning, efforts have largely been around trying to improve the learning design processes, rather than considering how to support other ways of learning in the workplace that are more appropriate for the performance problem and for the people concerned (through a performance consulting approach).
