Aspect 3 Number 1.) New technology is arising in the world today.  This is just a small sample for what is to come.  What this has to do with teaching is kids will be using it in school and could be using it to further there education by simply going online and looking stuff up. Or research the topic you are discussing in class even further.

Aspect 3 Number 9.) A man by the name of Shneiderman has captured the idea of just using computers in ways to educate students. His idea is this "I want emphasize the importance of the social aspects of learning in generating creative work. In CRCD projects, students research information, work collaboratively to create a meaningful product that demonstrates their learning, and contribute that project to a larger learning community."(Shneiderman) This is a great way to educate kids by the use of modern technology, and helps them understand how useful technology can really be to you.
Domenic Cervone's comment, April 2, 2014 6:24 PM
Aspect 3 Number 10.) Sneiderman had a plan and it was said in this article. His plan was "In order to help educators integrate technology effectively, we have compiled a list of technology tools focused on learning goals."(Shneiderman) Those learning goals are promoting critical-thinking, creativity, collaboration, and community-mindedness. He thinks this plan and these goals will help students learn better and hopes every individual finds it useful.

Aspect 3 Number 7.) This is a great example and presentation of how technology is evolving. Everyday people are thinking of new ideas and new technologies to help make peoples lives easier. This includes teachers too, by the upward spike in new technology it allows their job as teachers to become a little more simple. By allowing them to talk to their students at any time in a given day.
Domenic Cervone's comment, April 2, 2014 5:26 PM
Aspect 3 Number 8.) The new technology will also help students learn faster. By allowing them to research the topic they are learning at any time with the technology the have. Utilizing new technology is going to be a key factor to look at in the future. By researching the topic as students are learning will help their questions to be answered faster, because instead of waiting on a teacher to answer it for them they can use the internet. Also by learning subjects faster it allows them to get through things faster in return will leave room for time to learn new subjects or ideas that they have never heard of yet.

This quote from the article says it all over the next three years technology is going to change everything. Teaching included, and it will effect it by allowing more collaboration between students and teachers.

2. The new generation of students have less time to go to school, and online education allows them the convenience of learning whenever they have time. "The research indicates that, on average, learning outcomes are at least equivalent to on-campus study." (Shea)
Domenic Cervone's comment, February 19, 2014 4:45 PM
3. Not much has been proven about the success that can happen if 10,000 students enrolled to online education at the same time. But some top institutions or colleges have already made an online course available, such as Harvard. Many questions still need to be answered about the students future from the outcome of getting a degree online though.
Domenic Cervone's comment, February 19, 2014 4:53 PM
4. Online education promotes better communication between the students and the teachers. It has 2-way communication which allows for more flexibility for everyone included in it. "Last year more than six million college students-or one in three U.S. college students-took a fully online degree."(Shea)

He believes that K-9 should be in-person because of the learning environment it brings to the kids. I don't think he feels to strongly about children learning online until they reach the college level. He doesn't think it's smart for kids to learn in-person in college because of how expensive it can be. Every kid that wants to go to college can, but almost half can't even afford it. Mr. Gates wants that to stop and thinks technology is the way to solve the problem.

Aspect 3 Number 3.) Temple president Neil D. Theobald said at event "his support for teaching with technology, explaining how instructional technology resources at Temple helped him implement methods to stay connected with students in his own classroom despite his busy schedule." (Theobald) This is shows how useful technology can be to teaching. By allowing students to be taught things online at other times it can create more time for the teachers and professors to teach something new or review on something old that students did not fully understand.
Domenic Cervone's comment, April 2, 2014 4:28 PM
Aspect 3 Number 4.) Keynote speaker Don Marinelli who is the co-founder of the Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center explained "that today, creativity and innovation requires “whole brain” thinking."(Marinelli) What he is trying to explain by this is that students learn differently now due to the new technology that has be presented to them in their lifetime. Students now text, email, talk and make plans on the internet. That's how kids this day and age do it so why not teach them like that? They'll in turn learn better because they're being taught they way they like.
Domenic Cervone's comment, April 2, 2014 4:31 PM
Aspect 3 Number 5.) William Wuest who is the assistant professor of chemistry just helps me with my statement in saying this. "Incorporating technology can improve interest, performance and satisfaction in even the most difficult courses."(Wuest) Students love the internet and are interested in it because of all the cool new things you can do with it. By teaching them while incorporating the new technology or using it to teach them they will learn better.

Online Schooling and The Democratization of Education

Online Schooling and The Democratization of Education | Teachers vs The internet | Scoop.it

"MIT and Stanford’s online schooling initiatives represent a dramatic change in the model of higher education. Since these programs are known for offering the best undergraduate and graduate programs around the world, they are hoping to leverage their name to help expand cutting-edge teaching methods to the internet audience. By making these courses available via online schooling, they can serve a worldwide student base. Furthermore, these free courses will vastly expand the reach of higher education to socioeconomic groups who previously were unable to take advantage of a higher education."

Online education is mostly for students who are less fortunate and are unable to afford to go to a regular college. Also, MIT is in the process of creating an online school called MITx. They believe that it will allow them to educated more students than regular schools do in the present. Also, they are making it noticeably cheaper than colleges now and the students can still receive a certification in the completion of their online schooling.
Domenic Cervone's comment, February 19, 2014 5:01 PM
MIT and many other online institutions are doing very well do to the no cost to the student and by allowing them to also have acknowledgement of when they've completed there coursework. Students are realizing this is the future, and this is why the demand is so high and why online schooling is becoming more and more popular.

Domenic Cervone's comment, February 17, 2014 1:26 PM
Parents believe that the teacher is a very important part in their kids education. The relationship the kid has with his teacher is an enormous part of the definition of a good teacher. If a student doesn't like their teacher they'll be less likely to learn unlike a student who does like their teacher. Great teachers realize that everything isn't about controlling their students is about interaction with their own students.
Domenic Cervone's comment, February 19, 2014 5:18 PM
One of the teachers just had built a castle with drawbridges and torches with a medieval feast to teach her students about medieval times and they couldn't have been happier she said. She believe those are the kinds of experiences students don't forget and really grasp and understand what they're learning, and the internet can NOT do that.
Domenic Cervone's comment, February 19, 2014 5:25 PM
Great teachers are not the ones who get the highest test scores. The real greatness factor of a teacher comes from outside of the classroom and is someone who inspires students, and allows the student to move in directions maybe they thought was never possible. This is another example the internet is not able to do.
