Why Teachers Matter More in a Flipped Classroom - by Jon Bergmann - EdTechReview™ (ETR) | teacher's status | Scoop.it
"The reason Flipped Learning makes teachers more valuable is that it changes the dynamic of the classroom.  No longer is content delivery the focus of the class, nor is the teacher’s main responsibility the dissemination of knowledge.

Melissa Marshall's curator insight, January 25, 2014 6:15 AM

This is often something I am asked to explain when it comes to why i flipped my classroom - 'But doesn't it mean you have nothing to do?' Yes, it has meant a bit more preparation. Yes, I have to think carefully about how to differentiate, how to lead, how to learn with kids. Yes, it is tiring.

But, I get to talk to every kid in every class, every day, This is why I love it - it lets me connect to all kids, not just the overly confident ones or the struggling ones. This is why it is one of the few teaching philosophies I have tried, and not dropped. Every child. Every day. In a secondary school, what can beat that?!

The teacher is important in every classroom setting.
