11 Tips for Engaging Parents | Tech Learning

Shelley writes, "One of the best survival lessons I learned as a teacher was to engage parents. At the ISTE2016 conference I shared my tips and resources for engaging parents. Take this summer to create a plan for communicating with parents better. Voice gives learners a chance to share their opinions about something they believe in. We adapted the Continuum of Voice chart we used from Students at the Center in our post Learner Voice Demonstrates Commitment to Building Agency. The learning environment changes as you encourage voice and can see learners taking more control of their learning. We call this process the Stages of Personalized Learning Environments (PLE). - See more at: http://www.personalizelearning.com/2016/01/continuum-of-voice-what-it-means-for.html#sthash.kLBn5zQT.dpuf

6000+ Children's Books Available for Free: Free Technology for Teachers | Teacher Resources for Our Staff | Scoop.it

The University of Florida's Digital Collections offers ahuge library of digitized children's books.

All of the children's books in the collection can be read online. Reading the books online could be a bit difficult for some as there is a border with menus surrounding each page of the books. To avoid that, you can print all of the books for free. The printed version does not display anything but the book as it was scanned.
