claiton gonçalves lopes's insight:

Author (s): Fabricio Carpinejar
O Estado de S. Paul - 28/01/2013

Died in Santa Maria today. Who is not dead? Died at Rua dos Andradas, 1925. In a choppy slope of smoke.

The smoke was so black never in Rio Grande do Sul Never a cloud was so ominous.

Not the most morbid and electrical storms desire their company. Follow alone, spare, page torn from a map.

The smoke corrupted the sky forever. Blue is gray, anoitecemos on January 27, 2013.

The flames calmed down at 5:30, but death will never be controlled.

I died because I have a teenage daughter who takes to return home.

I died because I went into a nightclub thinking how there would in case of fire.

I died because I prefer to be near the stage to hear the best banda.

Died because they confuse the bathroom door with the emergency.

Died because the fire never apologizes when passing.

I died because I was somehow all who died.

Died suffocated excess death, like waking up again?

The building had not landed in the morning, like a plane on the runway runaway.

The output was a single and fear came on all sides.

Teenagers will not wake up at lunchtime. They will not remember anything. Or understand how suddenly distanced themselves from the future.

Over two hundred young people without the final kiss of mother, father, siblings.

The phones still ring in the chest of the victims in the extended Municipal Gymnasium.

Families still looking for their children. Kids in college are eternally silent.

Nobody has the courage to meet and tell what happened.

The words have lost their meaning.

The poet and chronicler, gaucho, author of Five Manas (2004, 6th edition) and Oh My God, Oh My Jesus (2012, 2nd edition), both published by Bertrand Brazil

Technology changes (nearly) everything

Technology changes (nearly) everything | teacher in love | Scoop.it
Technology changes everything. Disruption is the highest order and creative destruction is beautiful. Virtual reality is real. Inter-connected, on-demand, the uber-of-this and the Netflix-of-this-other-thing, bite sized and mobile, we Buzzfeed everything. Nothing is safe from our new normal.

Sure.

Based on the pre-washed, yet custom fit t-shirt slogans of Silicon Valley, we’re all on a one-way ride to technology nirvana – everything we want, everywhere we go, whatever we do will be easier, faster and more efficient.

Except schools.

Schools – the literally constructed spaces in which students learn and teachers teach – remain a monument to the way things were, impervious to upgrades and innovations. Pedagogy has changed, albeit slowly. And we do maintain a school calendar built around the harvest. Nonetheless, nary a school stands in this county without computers and many have high-capacity broadband internet access capable of delivering nearly any content at any time. Nearly every teacher of every subject at every education level has overwhelming access to resources, plans, concepts and teaching and assessment tools unimagined just 60 months ago.

MOFET JTEC - Israeli Start-Up’s New Platform Allows Teachers to Share Photos and Thoughts with Parents

MOFET JTEC - Israeli Start-Up’s New Platform Allows Teachers to Share Photos and Thoughts with Parents | teacher in love | Scoop.it

Remini allows teachers and other educators to upload photos and messages to parents. Messages can go to the whole school, an entire class, a specific group of parents, or just one set of them. Parents can save photos and messages on the child’s own timeline — it’s backed up in the cloud — so a child’s entire early childhood can be documented and parents — and grandparents, should the parents decide to invite them — can gain access to it easily. Parents cannot upload content to the main part of the app, although they can to the timeline, but if the teacher or administrator agrees, they can exchange private messages.

44 Smart Ways to Use Smartphones in Class (Part 1)

44 Smart Ways to Use Smartphones in Class (Part 1) | teacher in love | Scoop.it
This week an online article grabbed my attention. Its title read “94 Percent of High School Students Using Cellphones in Class.” I immediately scoped out the heading and thought to myself, “Finally, teachers are beginning to embrace the powerful little gadgets.” However, it did not take me long to realize the researched article took quite a different slant.

One quotation in particular caused serious professional introspection on my behalf. The article quotes the researchers as stating, “‘The potential damage stemming from heightened cell phone use during class casts a pall on the entire educational system, on the school atmosphere, on the educational achievements of the class, on the pupil’s own learning experience and on the teacher’s burnout having to cope with discipline problems in class.’”

I understand the tougher task of using regular cell phones in class versus internet ready smartphones, however , I could not disagree more with the above quotation. Although there is no doubt the very same scenarios mentioned in the above article are occurring in various classrooms around the globe, I now encourage all students to bring their cellphones or smartphones to class. Just a few years prior, my colleagues and I were struggling mightily with how to integrate the crafty handheld tools.

A blessed trip to the ISTE 2011 conference in Philadelphia helped me devise a BYOD classroom management plan and opened my eyes to the infinite educational potential of smartphones in the classroom.

Precisamos sair do imobilismo. E a reforma da escola, ao contrário do que muitos pensam, pode começar por qualquer ponta. Cada um desses atores que citei acima tem o poder de chacoalhar o status quo e começar a fazer as coisas de outro jeito.
