A '21st Century' Education Is SO Last Century

A '21st Century' Education Is SO Last Century | Talks 4 tech | Scoop.it

It's empty phraseology designed to sound like we are preparing for the future when we are already living in that future; and no one believes that what passes for a typical classroom today will be the classroom experience even 10 years from now.

Chandan Gupta's insight:

Of course, it should be in system should be synced, but not as a whole. Partially, the system can be implemented. In my point of view it is must to adopt the advancement. Avoiding the thinking of classroom, the system must understand about the participation of the student.

The Art of Pi: A Colorful Data Visualization

The Art of Pi: A Colorful Data Visualization | Talks 4 tech | Scoop.it

Using Circos, a circular visualization software, Cristian Ilies Vasile and Martin Krzywinski created these vibrant representations of π, φ and e.

Cristian Ilies Vasile had the idea of connecting each digit of π to its successive digit with links to the position of the numerically corresponding segments. Martin Krzywinski added to Vasile’s visualization “by showing the transition probabilities for each digit across bins of 10 digits” and did this for φ and e as well for the first 1,000 digits, followed by the first 2,000 digits.

Next, Krzywinski created a lovely distribution plot of the numbers using red-yellow-blue Brewer palette to map their digits and plot them on an Archimedean spiral.

For more details of the project, check out Martin Krzywinski’s website.

What Is Digital Marketing?

What Is Digital Marketing? | Talks 4 tech | Scoop.it

It’s a pretty expansive question, but let’s try and sum it up in a single sentence: digital marketing is the promotion of brands using all forms of digital advertising, which includes, but is not limited to, websites, search engine optimisation, search engine marketing, cost per click advertising and social media. Without digital marketing, it’s almost impossible for any brand to make any kind of impact on the web. And while these tools aren’t difficult to learn per se, they do require time and effort to make them work well and efficiently.

Moreover, it’s likely that they will never be mastered, as they’re shifting and evolving all of the time. All you can really do is borrow as much knowledge as you possibly can for this moment… and then keep on learning. The infographic below takes a closer look at digital marketing....

Chandan Gupta's insight:

It is found that one gets maximum coverage within the limited budget once we switch to the digital marketing. Most of us think that it is useless, But once the switching is done in web there is drastic change. Moreover S/He has to choose the good social media.

3D Printing Robot Produces Chairs And Tables From Recycled Waste

3D Printing Robot Produces Chairs And Tables From Recycled Waste | Talks 4 tech | Scoop.it

Two years ago, a Dutch student named Dirk Vander Kooij was designing furniture and preparing for his graduation project when he was inspired by an old 3D printer. So he got his hands on an industrial robot from a Chinese production line and reprogrammed it into a 3D printer to print furniture using recycled materials from old refrigerators."

Whatever the reason may be, you can easily convert your PowerPoint presentation slides into a screensaver. There are many third-party applications that offer conversion and some even charge some money for it. However, if you follow the instructions in this post, you won’t have to pay or download any application or program. You can easily set a slide or two—or even your whole presentation—into a screensaver that you can always see on your desktop.
